Refund timelines

Your money is already on its way — but the path from “refund approved” to a line in your banking app runs through two independent systems: ours and your bank's. Here's how long each stage takes, and why no one can promise an exact date in advance.

In short

First we review the request, then we send the refund — after that your bank usually credits the money within 1–10 business days. SBP is normally faster; foreign cards take longer. Treat this as a guideline, not a guarantee: the final timing is set by your bank and the payment system. Track each stage in your order history.

01 / StagesWhat the timeline is made of

A refund goes through two big stages. The first is the review on our side: we check the fare rules, calculate the amount and create the payment. The second is crediting at the bank: even once we've sent the money, it travels through the payment system and doesn't reach your account instantly.

  1. 01Review. The request is checked and approved — this usually takes some time, depending on the service type and fare.
  2. 02Sending. Once approved, we send the refund back to the same card or account you paid with.
  3. 03Crediting. Your bank processes the payment and shows it in your statement — typically within 1–10 business days.
Refunds always go back to the original methodMoney returns to wherever it came from: the card, SBP or the account. Redirecting a refund to a different card on request is unfortunately not possible — it's a payment-system rule.

02 / By methodHow long to wait by payment method

Crediting speed depends most on how you paid. Below are typical guidelines for the period after we've sent the refund. They aren't a promise of a specific date: your bank may process it faster or, in rare cases, slower.

Payment methodTypical guidelineNote
SBP (Faster Payments)Often 1–3 business daysUsually the fastest route
Russian cardTypically 1–10 business daysDepends on the issuing bank
Foreign cardLonger — sometimes up to several weeksMore intermediaries and checks involved
Tip: pay via SBP if speed mattersSBP refunds usually clear noticeably faster than card refunds. If you're planning a flexible trip that might be cancelled, it's a handy way to pay.

03 / TrackingHow to track your refund status

1

Open your order history

Go to /account/bookings and open the relevant booking — the refund status is shown right in the order card.

2

Wait for the “Sent” status

While the status is “Under review”, the money is still with us. The bank-day countdown starts the moment the refund is sent.

3

Check your bank statement

Sometimes a refund lands without a separate push notification. Check the full statement or transaction history in your banking app.

4

Contact us if the window has passed

If more than 10 business days have passed since the refund was sent, get in touch with support — by phone on 8 800 1000-646 or via @sales_travel_bot.

04 / DelaysWhy money can take longer

  • A foreign card or overseas bank — more intermediaries and checks on the payment-system side.
  • Weekends and holidays — banks count business days only, so the calendar window stretches out.
  • A closed or reissued card — the refund usually still reaches your account, but the bank may credit it more slowly.
  • A partial refund — for complex orders the calculation takes extra time at the review stage.
Don't open a bank dispute too earlyOpening a chargeback while the refund is still in transit can make the two processes conflict and delay your money. Wait out the window and check the status with us first.

05 / FAQFrequently asked questions

When does the 1–10 business-day count start?

From the moment the refund is sent after approval — not from the day you filed it. The review stage runs separately, so watch the status in your order history.

The money hasn't arrived in 10 days — what now?

First check your full statement: the refund may have arrived without a notification. If it's genuinely missing, contact support — we'll send you a proof of dispatch for your bank.

Can crediting be sped up?

At the crediting stage the speed is set by your bank, and we can't influence it. The fastest route is usually SBP.

Will I still get a refund if I've closed the card?

Usually, yes: the bank routes the refund to the account the card was linked to. If anything goes wrong, your bank will explain how the money will be credited, and we'll help with the documents.
