A declined payment almost never means something is wrong with your booking — most often the payment is stopped by the bank that issued your card, not by Sales.Travel. Below is a calm checklist to find the cause and finish paying in a couple of minutes.
Most declines come down to an online-transaction limit, an unconfirmed 3-D Secure step, insufficient funds or bank restrictions. Check your limits and the SMS or push confirmation, and don't retry payment back-to-back — that piles up holds. If the card keeps failing, choose an alternative: SBP, another card, crypto or an invoice.
01 / WhyWhy the bank declined the payment
Your card-issuing bank makes the decision to decline in a fraction of a second, and the message on screen rarely explains the real reason. Here are the causes we run into most often — usually it's one of these.
02 / FixWhat to do in five minutes
Open your bank app
Check the online-transaction limit and make sure internet payments are switched on. This is behind most declines.
Check the balance
Factor in the conversion rate and any fee — the final amount may be a little higher than you expect.
Confirm 3-D Secure
Wait for the bank's push or SMS and enter the code in time. If no code arrives, check your signal and try again.
Take a pause
If an attempt failed, wait 10–15 minutes to avoid extra holds, and only then try again.
Switch the payment method
If the card keeps refusing, pick an alternative on the payment page or in My bookings.
03 / AlternativesOther ways to pay
While payment is in progress your booking stays reserved for you, so switching the method is normal and safe. Sales.Travel offers several options besides a card.
- SBP — pay by QR code or from your bank app, typically without online-transaction limits.
- Another card — a card from a different bank often works where your main one declined.
- Crypto — handy when a card isn't available for regional reasons.
- Invoice — pay by bank details, including for companies; request it through support.
04 / SupportWhen to contact support
If you've worked through the checklist, tried an alternative and payment still won't go through, we'll help you pick a method and make sure your booking holds. Message @sales_travel_bot or call 8 800 1000-646; your booking status is always visible under My bookings.
05 / FAQFrequently asked questions
Money left my card but the payment was declined — what's going on?
It's most likely a hold — a temporary block rather than a charge. The bank usually releases it automatically within a few days. If the amount doesn't come back, contact support.
How long is my booking held while I sort out payment?
The hold time depends on the fare and the destination. The exact deadline is shown on the payment page and in My bookings; if you're unsure, check with support.
My foreign card won't go through — is that normal?
Yes — regional restrictions on the bank's side sometimes kick in. Use SBP, a card from another bank, crypto or payment by invoice.
Is it safe to enter my card details?
Yes. Payment goes through a secure gateway that supports 3-D Secure, and Sales.Travel doesn't store your full card details. See the Payment section for more.
