What a package tour includes

A package tour is the convenience of «all in one», but the line between «already included» and «paid on arrival» is not always obvious. Here's what the price usually covers, what is almost always extra, and where to find the exact contents of your specific tour.

In short

As a rule, a package covers the flight, accommodation with your chosen board, the airport–hotel transfer and basic insurance. Visa, extended insurance, excursions, city tax and surcharges for board or room category are usually extra. The exact list is in the tour description and in your confirmation under «My bookings».

01 / IncludedWhat the price usually already covers

A base package is built so you can fly, check in and be insured without any separate purchases. Most often it includes four components.

  • Flight — round trip, usually on a scheduled or charter service, with the baggage allowance stated in the fare.
  • Accommodation at the chosen hotel with the board type stated in the tour (BB, HB, FB or all-inclusive).
  • Transfer from airport to hotel and back — group or private, depending on the package.
  • Basic medical insurance for the trip, with the minimum cover required by the destination.
Board is part of the packageThe board type is tied to the tour fare. If you want a different level — say, moving from breakfast to all-inclusive — that is usually a paid upgrade, not a free swap at the hotel.

These items depend on the destination, the hotel and your plans, so they are rarely built into the base price. Budget for them in advance.

There is no universal set: the same hotel can be sold with or without a transfer, with breakfast or all-inclusive. So the only reliable source is the specific tour page and your confirmation.

Make sure the board code (BB/HB/FB/AI) and the transfer type match what you expect.

Is the visa included in the tour price?

As a rule, no. Visas and entry fees are usually paid separately, and in some countries you arrange them yourself. Check the destination requirements in the tour description.

Does the package insurance cover everything?

Basic insurance covers the minimum required by the destination. For active holidays, chronic conditions or a higher limit, add an extended policy — that's a separate option.

Why does the hotel ask for a payment at check-in?

Usually it's the resort or city tax, a room deposit, or charges for services outside the package. These are not part of the tour price and are collected by the hotel directly.

Where can I see the exact contents after paying?
