Special room requests

ISIgor SedovUpdated 14 May 20265 min read8 470 read

One big bed instead of two singles, a higher floor, a sea view, rooms next to each other for the whole family — you can ask for all of this in advance. The key is knowing where the request is recorded and why it's worth repeating at check-in.

In short

Add your requests (bed type, high floor, view, connecting or nearby rooms, late check-out) when you book, or pass them to support — we attach them to your order under My bookings. This is a request, not a guarantee: the hotel honours it where possible at check-in.

01 / What you can askWhich requests you can pass on

You can pass on any reasonable preference related to the room and your stay. These are the most common ones.

RequestWhat to specify
Bed typeOne large bed (double/king) or two separate beds (twin)
FloorHigh or low, away from the lift or reception
Window viewSea, city or garden; a quiet side away from any construction
Rooms togetherConnecting (with an internal door) or simply next to each other
Check-in / outEarly check-in or late check-out (often paid)
OtherNon-smoking room, baby cot, special occasion (honeymoon)
Connecting ≠ nearbyConnecting rooms share an internal door — handy with kids. Nearby rooms are simply close to each other. Make clear which you need: a hotel usually has only a limited number of connecting rooms.

02 / How to addHow to add a request to your booking

1

While booking

On the hotel checkout step, fill in the “Special requests” field — the note travels with your order.

2

After payment

Open the booking under My bookings and message us — we'll forward the request to the hotel and note it on the order.

3

Via support

Call 8 800 1000-646 or message @sales_travel_bot — give your booking number and the request.

4

Repeat at check-in

At reception, mention the request again — that's where the hotel actually assigns rooms.

Be specific“Large bed, high floor, quiet side” is clearer for the hotel than “a nice room”. The more precise the wording, the better the chance it's honoured.

03 / GuaranteesRequest vs. guarantee

Almost any preference is a request: the hotel considers it subject to availability at check-in and doesn't confirm it in advance. If a feature is critical for you, it usually has to be booked as a separate, paid option.

  • Request (if available): floor, view, bed type, nearby rooms, a quiet side.
  • Often paid and confirmed: early check-in, late check-out, a guaranteed sea view, a category upgrade.
  • Fixed by the rate: room category and guest count — changed only by a new booking, never by a request.
Don't rely on a “view” as a wishIf a sea view or a large bed is a must, choose a rate or category where it is part of the room description. A free-text “I'd like a sea view” may go unmet, and no refund is due for that.

04 / Improve the oddsHow to improve your chances

  1. 01Add the request early — the hotel has more room to manoeuvre than on arrival day.
  2. 02Give a reason: “honeymoon”, “travelling with a baby” — staff are more inclined to help.
  3. 03Arrive later in the day for a high floor or quiet side — by then more rooms are vacated and cleaned.
  4. 04For Sales.Travel club members we flag a priority note on the booking where possible.

05 / FAQFrequently asked

Do you guarantee a sea view if I ask for one?

No. It's a request the hotel fulfils where possible at check-in. A guaranteed view must be booked as a separate room category where it's stated in the description.

Can I add a request after paying?

Yes. Open the booking under My bookings and message us, or call 8 800 1000-646 — we'll pass it to the hotel.

Are twin beds instead of one big bed free?

Usually yes, if that layout exists within the same room category. It's still a request, though — the hotel confirms the configuration at check-in.

What if my request wasn't met?

Calmly ask reception whether you can move to another room later in the day. If it was a paid, confirmed option that wasn't provided, contact us and we'll take it up with the hotel.
