World's Top 10 Beaches for 2026:
where to fly for perfect sand

A perfect beach is more than white sand. It's calm, rock-free water, shade from palm trees, and a bit of infrastructure nearby. We've rounded up 10 beaches that consistently top the world's rankings — and break down when to go to each and how much the trip will cost.

10 Beaches
worth flying around the world for

01
Grace Bay — Turks and Caicos
5 km of powder-white sand and calm water behind the barrier reef. The best all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, with barely any waves — perfect with kids.
02
Anse Source d'Argent — Seychelles, La Digue
Pink granite boulders and a shallow, warm lagoon. The most photographed beach on the planet — arrive at opening time before the crowds do.
03
Whitehaven Beach — Australia, Whitsundays
98%-pure quartz sand that never heats up in the sun. Reachable by boat or seaplane from Hamilton Island.
04
Matira Beach — Bora Bora
The island's only public beach: a gentle wade into the water for hundreds of meters and sunsets over the French Polynesian lagoon.
05
Navagio (Shipwreck Cove) — Greece, Zakynthos
The famous cove with a shipwreck and turquoise water. Accessible only from the sea, by boat from Porto Vromi.
06
Reethi Rah — Maldives
12 separate beaches on a single resort island, with a house reef right off the villa. The benchmark for secluded premium water-side living.
07
Nungwi — Tanzania, Zanzibar
White sand and palm trees at a third of the Maldives' price. No sharp low-tide retreat like on the island's east side, and dhow sunset safaris.
08
Pink Beach — Indonesia, Komodo
Pink sand from red coral and snorkeling with manta rays. Reached by boat tours from Labuan Bajo.
09
Railay — Thailand, Krabi
Limestone cliffs that drop straight into the sea. No road access — only a 15-minute longtail boat from Ao Nang.
10
Playa Norte — Mexico, Isla Mujeres
Warm, calm Caribbean water and a waist-deep wade for dozens of meters. A 30-minute ferry ride from Cancún.

When to Go
for each one

The tropics run on dry and wet seasons, not "summer and winter." The Maldives and Seychelles are best from December to April, Zanzibar from June to October, and French Polynesia from May to October. The Caribbean (Grace Bay, Playa Norte) is most reliable from December through April — hurricane season runs August to October.

Pro tip: fly in the "shoulder" of the season (the first few weeks after peak) — the weather is already stable, and hotel and flight prices run 20–35% lower.

What It Costs
to get there in 2026

Seychelles (Mahé, Praslin)
$980–1,410 round trip
$3,480–5,650/week for two
Maldives (atolls)
$820–1,200 round trip
$3,040–6,520/week
Zanzibar (Nungwi)
$600–920 round trip
$1,630–2,830/week
