How booking works on Sales.Travel
We aggregate 3.4 million properties — from city apart-hotels to Maldivian villas over the water. Enter the destination and dates: the search returns live supplier rates for exactly your dates and occupancy, not an abstract “from” price. Compare rates by board type and cancellation terms, then confirm.
Every rate card shows the board code, the cancellation deadline and the total for the whole stay. Nothing appears at checkout that you did not see at the comparison step — that is the point of showing live rates rather than a storefront.
Board types explained
Board basis is the single biggest source of confusion when comparing hotels: the same room can differ in price by a third purely because of meals. We use the international codes and show them on every rate.

Frequently asked questions
Are the prices on the site final?
Yes. We show the supplier’s live rates for your dates, not a showcase “from” price. If there is no availability for your dates, we say “price on request” rather than show a number that no longer exists.
When does booking confirmation arrive?
For most hotels confirmation is instant: the voucher arrives by email right after payment. Some properties require the hotel’s confirmation — in that case we tell you before payment, not after.
Can I cancel free of charge?
It depends on the rate. Cancellation terms are shown for every rate before payment: free cancellation until a given date, or a non-refundable rate. Non-refundable rates are usually cheaper — the choice is yours.
What do RO, BB, HB, FB, AI mean?
These are international board codes: RO — room only, BB — bed & breakfast, HB — half board (breakfast and dinner), FB — full board, AI — all inclusive, UAI — ultra all inclusive. We show the code on every rate card.
Do I need a card to guarantee the booking?
The hotel may request a deposit or card pre-authorisation at check-in — that is the property’s rule, not our fee. Where such a condition exists, it is stated in the “Important information” block on the hotel page.
Why do the per-night price and the total differ?
The per-night price is a reference figure that helps compare hotels. The total is calculated for the whole stay, based on the number of nights and the rate’s rules. You pay the total, and it is visible before confirmation.
