Which licence do I need to drive in Thailand?+
An IDP is required with your licence — without it police fine you and insurance is void. Left-hand traffic. Traffic drives on the left — allow a day to adapt and pick an automatic.
What deposit and insurance apply?+
5,000–20,000 THB on a card; local shops ask for your passport as deposit — refuse, copy only. basic insurance included, full SCDW 200–400 THB/day; check third-party limits — basics are low.
What is the minimum age and experience?+
21+ (23+ at international chains), 1+ year.
